A 19 Year Old Patient Druged And Raped By Male Nurse
A 27-year-old male nurse, Olugbenga Isaac, who allegedly drugged and
r*ped a 19-year-old female patient, was on Tuesday arraigned in an Ikeja
Magistrates’ court in Lagos.
Isaac, a resident of Ajah area of Lagos is being tried for r*pe. The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu told the court that the accused committed the offence on September 15, 2016 at Onipanu, Lagos.
He said the accused unlawfully had s*xual intercourse with the 19-year-old lady.
“The accused had s*xual inter-course with a woman without her consent,” he said. The complainant was sick and called the defendant, a nurse, to treat her.
“The complainant had toothache, she called on the nurse to administer drugs on her. Instead, the accused injected her with a substance that made her sleep. The complainant slept off and the accused r*ped her and left.
“The complainant regained consciousness after several hours and was bleeding from her private part. It then dawned on her that she had been r*ped,” he said.
NAN reports that the offence contravened Section 258 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
The Nurse denied committing the offence. The Magistrate, T. Akanni, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till November 30 for mention.
